Orchestration I - Fundamentals (English/Spanish Subtitles)
Orchestration I - Fundamentals (WORK IN PROGRESS)
In this introductory course to Orchestration, we will look upon the often not-explained or misunderstood concepts for the orchestra. Most books focus on instrumentation or isolated archaic examples where the example might be the exception and there is no real thought artistic process behind, just analysis.
We will fully understand why and how to voice specific chords based on the acoustic principle of the harmonic series, not just in traditional triadic chords, but we will dive into complex non-functional chords, how to choose which notes to double, and how to artistically choose the best option as orchestrators and artists without the need to learn dozens of "formulas" for voicings. We will also understand how to use certain timbres and registers, how and WHY to double, and learn the basics blend and separation of the different families/instruments.
